Tour 1 Cycling 12 days/11 nights from Ho Chi Minh City to Ha Noi

The evening is yours to enjoy Ho Chi Minh City.

Pre tour:

Arrive the day before the tour starts. You will be met at the airport by your tour guide and be transferred to your hotel. The evening is yours to enjoy Ho Chi Minh City.

 

Tour Program

Day 01: Saigon - Dalat (L/D) (30 km)

Leave Saigon and enjoy the scenery on the 4-hour drive to Duc Trong. We take to our bikes and ride through coffee and pepper plantations, on hilly country roads in the surrounding area of Ta Nung. We then take the hilly rural roads through ethnic minority villages to Dalat.

Day 02: Dalat – Cam Ranh - Nha Trang (B/L/) (100 km)

In the morning we transfer out of the honeymoon city of Dalat. We start riding on the beautiful hilly back roads and ride downhill to the port of Cam Ranh (an old American navy base). After a stop for lunch we then ride on the coastal road to Nha Trang.

Day 03: Nha Trang –Tuy Hoa, Phu Yen (B/L/D) (80 km)

After breakfast we visit the Po Nagar Cham Tower in the city of Nha Trang. We then start cycling through the beautiful scenery among rice-paddies and the mountainous areas. Enjoy a delicious lunch at the beautiful beach of Dai Lanh. In the afternoon, we ride on the coastal road passing fish farms and fishing villages and ride on footpaths through local villages, rice fields and vegetable farms. We stay the night in Tuy Hoa.

Day 04: Tuy Hoa – Qui Nhon (B/L/D) (100 km)

In the morning we cycle through the countryside, seeing rice paddies, sweet potato and manioc fields. You will have a chance to see many non-touristy sights and experience the real Vietnam. In the afternoon, we cycle through the rolling hills and race along the rail-way from Chi Thanh to La Hai and end today’s bike ride in the late afternoon at Dieu Tri. We stay the night in Qui Nhon city.

Day 05: Qui Nhon - Quang Ngai (B/L/D) (90 km)

We start the bike ride in the morning by cycling on coastal roads from the countryside of Qui Nhon city. We mingle with the locals and see the beautiful rice-paddies and mountains. Enjoy lunch at a local seafood restaurant before you rock and roll down the hilly roads to Binh Duong town. Transfer by mini-van/bus to Quang Ngai city.

Day 06: Quang Ngai - Hoi An (B/L/) (100 km)

In the morning we ride to My Lai Village, the site of the 1968 massacre of more than 504 people. We take time to take in the history. Then through the fishing port to the high road where we get on the van/bus and drive to the restaurant in Tam Ky to enjoy the local speciality of Chicken Rice for lunch.

In the afternoon, we pedal through an area of white sands to coastal villages and continue biking along country roads to Hoian. We stay the night in Hoian.

Day 07: Hoi An- My Son (B/L) (40 km)

In the morning we ride 40 km visit My Son, the ancient capital on Champa Kingdom. We spend time walking through this UNESCO World Heritage Site that was a religious centre from the 4th to 14th centuries BC. We transfer back to Hoi An for lunch and free time for shopping in the afternoon. Option: Have a free day for shopping in Hoian town. Stay one more night in Hoi An.

Day 08: Hoi An - Hue (B/L/D) (100 km)

The route we cycle today passes over the spectacular Hai Van Pass the 'Pass of the Ocean Clouds'. The views are stunning although those who prefer to avoid the 580m climb can always take a lift in the support van. You can see the remains of US Army bunkers at the top of Hai Van Pass. Then ride down to Lang Co beach, enjoy lunch and continue through small villages, ancient burial-grounds of Hue and rural scenes to the outskirts of Hue city.

Day 09: Hue - Hanoi by night train (B/L/) (35 km)

In the morning we ride to visit the Forbidden City, capital of Vietnam from 17th-20th century. We continue on to the Royal Tombs of Nguyen Dynasty in the morning. In the afternoon we cruise on the Perfume River back to Hue city. We catch the overnight train to Hanoi.

Day 10: Hanoi - Ha Long – Hanoi (B/L/)

In the morning we drive in the van/bus to Ha Long Bay. We spend 4 hours exploring the sights of Ha Long Bay on a traditional Vietnamese boat and enjoy a beautiful lunch before we drive back to Hanoi in late afternoon. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 11: Hanoi City Tour (B/L/)

On the full day city tour, we visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closed on Mondays), the One Pillar Pagoda and the Temple of Literature in the morning. We enjoy lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we visit the Museum of Ethnology, Hoan Kiem Lake and the Old Quarters of Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 12: Hanoi Departure (B/)

Enjoy your own free time until time to leave for the airport. Your transfer to the airport is included.
