Biking on Ho Chi Minh Trail

Ride along the beautiful HCM trail which was started in 1959. Pay your respect with a visit to the War Cemetery – home to over 10,000 soliders. Pedal along the country road past rubber plantations and small villages.

Tour Program

Day 1: Phong Nha National Park/Dong Ha-100-150kms-bike/van-distance depends on your ability

Breakfast at the homestay. and off we go towards Hue for next 2 days through this beautiful karst mountain park and onto the great HCM trail and the real Vietnam. The HCM trail is more mountainous then the coastal road and way less traffic and touristy. On this day can get in the support van if get tired at any point

Day 2: Dong Ha - Ho Chi Minh trail – DMZ – Hue / 100-150km riding-includes the 36km Vinh Moc tunnel to Hue

Ride along the beautiful HCM trail which was started in 1959. Pay your respect with a visit to the War Cemetery – home to over 10,000 soliders. Pedal along the country road past rubber plantations and small villages.

Continue to ride to the 17th of Parallel - Ben Hai river – DMZ of Vietnam from 1954 – 1972.

Lunch en routes, then uphill and downhill to Vinh Moc tunnel – known a the legendary “Underground city” during the American war in Vietnam. Here, local people was stayed underground for nearly 2,000 days without sunlight in order to remain their homeland.

Transfer to Hue for check in hotel. Relax at our own.

Day 3: Hue city cycling

In the early morning we take a nice peaceful and short ride through back roads to a stunning local Pagoda, Huyen Tran Cong Chua hidden in the jungle sans tourists and peace and calm fill the air. Then to the Tomb of Minh Mang which is probably the most spectacular of all the tombs of former emporers buried in this area. It is about 15kms outside the city

No rush today and we head back to Hue to a local market for some street Pho/lunch and vibe. After lunch we take a short ride to the massive World Heritage CITADEL where Chinese eporers ruled from for centuries, free to roam as long as you want including the former harem area.

Including today for biking to Cau Ngoi Khanh Toan (Tile bridge) away Hue city around 10km in the village

Day 4: Hue -LANG CO cycling - 75km ride

The next two days we cycle the Mandarin Road passing through three mountainous spurs. To start the day we take a side road through local villages and rice fields to one of the most unique historic wooden bridges in Vietnam. There are only 2 in the whole country and the other is in the middle of busy Hoi An. Taking side paths through rice fields we rejoin with the main road to Lang Co. A great, scenic, rolling road where we stay on one of Vietnam's best beach's in this quiet small town. If time we will stop at the Elephant Pools for a quick dip in this beautiful ravine just off the main road. Tomorrow is our first big climb called The Pass of the Clouds by the Sea.

Day 5: Lang co – Hai Van pass – Da Nang - Hoi An cycling - 60km ride

May not be long but a real nice climb starts our day to the top of the pass where some original Vietnam War bunkers still remain and an incredible view to the far off coast line. Yes there is a great downhill and than a pretty much flat ride through Da Nang into Hoi An along the ocean/beach. If time permits[ should be lots of time] we will stop at one of Vietnam's most powerful religious sites, Marble Mountain found 5kms past Da Nang, a short hike up the mountain with the temple inside a big cave. The power and Peace of Buddhism fills this cave.

Day 6: Hoi An ride to My Son

This is the most touristic stop we have but also has a lot of history as was once an inland port town that silted over so it never grew into a city but kept its charm. Also a UNESCO world heritage site, Lots of cool stores and shopping on its ancient stone streets. Hoi An is noted for its silk clothing and great prices.

The morning we will ride today of about 45 kms to MY SON, My Son was once the heart and soul of this ancient culture 1500 years old and another UNESCO site.

Day 7: Hoi An – Kham Duc - Kon Tum Cycling 115km – Overnight in Kon Tum

07h00am: our bus pick you up from Hoi An drive to cross-road Kham Duc (Quang Ngai) takes 3 hours on bus ride 120km.

10.00am start biking for 40km from Kham Duc to Lo Xo pass around 2 hours on the nice road then uphill and downhill on very beautiful mountain & river 2 sides. There is a 10km climb here. Then ride on bike for downhill for 10km about 30minutes. Lunch will be on dak Glei town.

The continue ride for another 60km on a rolling road. Then transfer by bus to Kon Tum around 115km on Ho Chi Minh Road (national highway 14). Check in and realx. Dinner on your own.

Day 8: Kon Tum ride to Chu Sre for 75km – Overnight in Chu Sre

08h00am we start from Pleiku ride for 50km for first 10km on good road, 10km after little uphill, 30km last is uphill and downhill, takes around 4h30 riding.

Day 9: Chu Sre ride to Buon Ma Thuot cycling 50km - Lak - Overnight in Lak

This morning, bus ride from your home stay to Buon Ma Thuot, starting biking from Ban Me Thuot to Lak through the quite village road, no traffic, we ride along the coffee field, pepper plation and rubber together with corm paddy and rice fild. This is very nice place for you to take photo. We ride from here along the Eo Kao lake then to Lak. Stop on the way for lunch.

After lunch we continue to ride along the raod with nice view 2 side. Then check in guest house in Lak.

Day 10: Lak - Dalat

Today we will ride in the area of unique kind of coffee called “Weasel Coffee then to Dalat.

Arring in Dalat, check in hotel and relax.
